A Reader for the Mindanawon Peace Advocate
Karl M. Gaspar, Elpidio A. Lapad and Ailynne J. Maravillas
No longer sold new: look for it in a library, or for a used copy.
A reader for peace workers on Mindanao's history, ethnic relations and Muslim–Christian relations. It was written for Mindanao peace advocates and co-published with Catholic Relief Services.
Mapagpakamalinawon is a reader for people working for peace in Mindanao. It was put together by Karl M. Gaspar, Elpidio A. Lapad and Ailynne J. Maravillas and published by the Alternate Forum for Research in Mindanao. It runs to nearly 300 pages, and editions also appeared in Cebuano and Filipino.
The book tells the stories of ordinary people and communities working to keep unity and peaceful coexistence alive in Mindanao. They try to carve out "oases of peace" on an island of strife. A Mindanao annotated bibliography reads these stories as signs that Mindanawons are turning away from violence and seeking peaceful solutions.
