Stories from the Heart of the Revolution
No longer sold new: look for it in a library, or for a used copy.
A collection of personal stories from inside the Bangsamoro revolution, launched in Cotabato City on 17 June 2026. Its premise is to tell stories that had to stay hidden while the movement was clandestine.
Bangsamoro and the Everyday: Stories from the Heart of the Revolution gathers personal accounts from Bangsamoro men, women, youth, families, communities and members of the movement. They tell of life during the armed struggle, its cost, and the turn to peace. The Institute of Bangsamoro Studies and the Bangsamoro Government launched it at the Grand Pagana Hotel in Cotabato City on 17 June 2026.
It has 6 chapters. The first looks at the historical, intellectual and spiritual roots of the struggle. The second shows what the conflict did to individuals, families and children. The third tells the jihad as it was lived in the Ranaw region. The fourth looks inside the revolutionary fronts and how they spoke for the main sectors of society. The fifth follows the move from armed struggle to peace talks. The sixth records the doctors, lawyers, teachers, scholars and civil society groups who supported the cause.
One author, Bam Baraguir, said the project took nearly 5 years. She explained that every claim had to be grounded in the stories the team gathered, "to help us remember".
