Towards Transitional Justice in the Bangsamoro Peace Process
Edited by Venus Betita
No longer sold new: look for it in a library, or for a used copy.
The first collection on transitional justice in the Bangsamoro, launched in Davao City in July 2014. It explains the concept, draws lessons from other countries, and looks at truth, justice, reparation and reconciliation in Central Mindanao.
forumZFD, a German peace organisation working in Mindanao since 2008, published this collection in Davao City in 2014, with funding from the German development ministry. The editorial team was Venus Betita, Manuel Domes, Daniel Jaeger, Lotte Kirch and Jeremy Simons. Forewords come from Cardinal Orlando Quevedo, Raissa Jajurie and Timuay Santos Unsad.
The book has 3 parts. The first explains transitional justice as an evolving idea, with an essay on its foundations by Jasmina Brankovic and Hugo van der Merwe and one on Latin America by Rosario Figari Layús. The second draws lessons from other places, including Galuh Wandita's notes from Aceh. The third turns to the Bangsamoro: Rosa Cordillera Castillo on truth, justice, reparation and reconciliation in Central Mindanao, Marian Pastor Roces, and Jurma Tikmasan on the island provinces of Western Mindanao.
In his foreword, Cardinal Quevedo reads the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro itself as an expression of transitional justice.
