The old literary Maranao of the darangen and the bayok, glossed by the Maranao scholar who co-wrote the dictionary.
This lexicon glosses in English the words and phrases of classical literary Maranao. It was compiled by Batua Al-Macaraya and Engracia M. Macaraya and published in Marawi City in 1993 by the University Research Center of Mindanao State University, with sponsorship from the Toyota Foundation of Japan. It runs to 384 pages, after 26 pages of front matter that include a short bibliography.
Batua A. Macaraya had worked on the language long before. With the American linguist Howard P. McKaughan he compiled A Maranao Dictionary, published by the University of Hawaii Press in 1967.
