The standard Tausug–English dictionary, from the Summer Institute of Linguistics; second edition 1994.
This is a dictionary of Tausug, the language of Sulu, with English meanings. It was compiled and edited by Irene U. Hassan, Seymour A. Ashley and Mary L. Ashley.
The first edition came out in Jolo in 1975 through the Coordinated Investigation of Sulu Culture, as a joint project with the Bureau of Public Schools and the Summer Institute of Linguistics. One library record says its aim was to help the use of Tausug in education and cultural life. A second edition followed in 1994 from Notre Dame of Jolo College and the Summer Institute of Linguistics, as volume 6 of the Sulu Studies series. It runs to about 688 pages, with an index compiled by Malcolm S. Armour and a bibliography.
